Biomass boilers are specialist pieces of equipment which need to be serviced by specialist engineers to ensure prolonged economic life and efficiency.

 

How our service works

We provide meticulous services and maintenance not only to the XKY Energy supplied biomass (wood pellet, chip or log) boilers, but to any biomass boiler installation. 

All our Biomass service and commissioning engineers offer the proven record of experience and are fully trained and certified on biomass boiler installations.

What a biomass boiler system consists of

• Boiler body

• Back end protection

• Pump/ distribution system

• Expansion vessels

• Flue system

• Fuel delivery system

• Fuel store

• Control unit

Full service & Intermediate service  

A full service will be carried out during the out-of-heating period when the boiler will need to be switched off 24 hours prior to our visit. Required work includes: 

​​

Inspection and diagnosis of 

• geared motor units, seals and bearings (grease where necessary)

• automatic ignition system

• protection/safety equipment

• hydraulic system

• fuel delivery system

• boiler connections and control panel

​

Inspection and thorough clean of 

• boiler heat exchanger

• primary and secondary airways for carbon build up.

• feed screws and ash screws

• flue system

 

An intermediate service will be carried out during the heating period, whilst the boiler is normally operating. Required work includes: 

​

Inspection and diagnosis of 

• automatic ignition system.

• protection/safety equipment.

• fuel delivery system

Inspection and essential clean of 

• boiler heat exchanger

• flue system

​

A flue gas analysis report on the efficiency of the boiler during working conditions

​

Upon a full/ intermediate service completion a service report will be issued with data attached and notification of any remedial work required. 

Call outs 

​

Breakdowns can usually be attended by our certified biomass engineers within 48 hours. Urgent call outs are usually attended within 24 hours. 

​

Warranty of the service lasts for 12 months.
